The Discovery Lab
A real laboratory, scaled down for small hands and big questions.
Children grow crystals, launch bottle rockets, test boat designs and meet giant snails. Every experiment follows the full scientific journey — predict, test, observe, explain — with take-home projects that turn kitchen tables into second labs.
- Weekly lab sessions for every year group
- Safe, child-sized equipment and goggles
- Growing beds, wormery and weather station
- Saturday discovery club and science fair
- Take-home experiment kits each half term
The Scientific Journey
Every young scientist follows these steps
Predict
What do you think will happen? Every session starts with brave guesses and reasons.
Test
Mix, build, measure and observe — with real tools and gentle guidance.
Explain
Present findings at the mini conference and take the question home to families.
Lab Questions
Is the lab safe for young children?+
Completely. All materials are non-toxic, equipment is child-sized, and sessions are led by trained staff with small groups.
Which ages use the discovery lab?+
Everyone from nursery to Year 6, with experiments matched to each stage — from floating and sinking to simple circuits.
Can we continue experiments at home?+
Yes — take-home kits go out each half term, and the Saturday discovery club welcomes the whole family.
